CommUnity Garden

The Community Garden at Temple Beth El was established in 2016.  Our garden was created in conjunction with the Barn Community of the Lehigh Valley. Established in 2005, The Barn is part of a non-denominational Christian church that encourages gardeners, our neighbors, our partners and members of different faith groups to participate in feeding the needy.

Located on the grounds of Temple Beth El, the garden consists of nine raised beds, totaling 450 square feet.  In the seven growing seasons, we have planted eighteen different vegetables, for a total of 6,402 pounds of fresh produce.  The veggies are then donated to Jewish Family Services food pantry.  We serve approximately 120 of our neighboring families who are food insecure.
The caring of the garden are volunteers who perform various garden functions.
