Shari Spark - Coordinator of Ritual & Service

Born in Texas and reared in Nashville, Tennessee, Shari Spark still considers herself a Jewish girl from the South, even after having lived in the Lehigh Valley nearly 20 years. Her current position as coordinator of Ritual and Service is a culmination of her many experiences and education. Having attended Jewish camps, day school and university, continuing education through individual study with cantors and rabbis and through chevruta: Shari strives to learn more about Jewish ritual and life, eager to share knowledge with others. Whether through adult education, b’nei mitzvah training, family or child education, bringing the experience of Jewish life to others is what gives Shari great joy.

Alicia Zahn - Religious School Director

Alicia Zahn is originally from Allentown where she began her love of Jewish learning during an Alexander Muss High School in Israel Program. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Stonybrook and went on to receive a Masters of Elementary Education from Queens College. Alicia taught in public schools in New Hampshire and New York before moving back to Pennsylvania. Her career includes working with children from Prekindergarten (teaching at the Jewish Day School of the Lehigh Valley) all the way through high school (as Princeton Review SAT tutor and as Jewish youth group advisor) and every grade in between. She enjoyed teaching in our Religious School for 15 years before becoming the school director. Alicia and her husband Bruce have been blessed with four amazing children, Helaina, David, Daniel, and Sam – all educated here at Temple Beth El religious school! Alicia welcomes you to call or stop by the school office to discuss your vision for your child’s Jewish education.
